In early 2015 Capespan chose the Fresh Produce-specific software package of Schouw Informatisering: SI Foodware Fresh Produce. Not even a year later, with the help of Schouw Informatisering, Capespan Continent and Capespan International have gone live with this Microsoft Dynamics NAV-based application on time and within budget in seven countries. This special achievement was made possible by a successful close collaboration.
An enthusiastic group of core Capespan users and Schouw consultants all worked confidently together on a completely new ERP design and infrastructure. 'By implementing SI Foodware Fresh Produce, we've ensured that several companies in different countries can work in the same way with a standard ERP package' says Tom Quets, CIO of Capespan.
As the main contractor of the automation project, Schouw has worked closely with its technology partners to introduce supplementary ERP applications at Capespan. Schouw collaborated with SDT on RF barcode scanning for logistics, with Hillstar for business intelligence and with Quadira for output management.
During this implementation, the best practices of the Fresh Produce sector were used to optimise Capespan's processes and procedures. With this project, Capespan also achieved a higher level of automation with its logistics providers. Tom Quets reflects: 'We look back at a complex but highly successful process in which everyone worked hard and achieved a great deal.' Together with Schouw, Capespan is now looking ahead at a potentially larger-scale roll-out within the group.
