Aveno selects Microsoft Dynamics® NAV and SI Foodware® from Strategic IT

Berchem, 11 December 2007 - At the end of November Aveno signed contracts with Strategic IT for the installation and implementation of Microsoft Dynamics® NAV combined with SI Foodware®. The supplier of edible oils was looking for a new solution with a closer fit to the business processes. General manager Steven Van den Berghe explains: ’We have chosen Strategic IT because of their knowledge and experience in our sector.’
Years of experience in oils and fats
Aveno supplies a wide range of edible oils and fats, deep fryer oils, baking ingredients and margarines in various types and packaging. Aveno’s credo embraces open communications, listening skills and customer focussed thinking, which must all lead to a win-win situation. Through its many years’ experience in edible oils and fats Aveno excels in its expertise and professionalism. Van den Berghe: ’We always create new concepts that enable us to maintain a flexible supply process to retailers, wholesalers, foodstuffs agencies and large caterers.’ Aveno, known by the Delizio brand, is part of the AOR group. Aveno also supplies edible oils to many private labels.
Partner with knowledge and experience
Currently Aveno is still working with Topmaster, a bookkeeping package designed for companies just getting started. Because of continuing growth there is a pressing need to invest in the communication with the business partners. ’The choice for Dynamics NAV was made quickly,’ explains Van den Berghe: ’Because of the high degree of user friendliness and the good integration with other IT products, which may or may not be Microsoft based.’ Aveno then selected Strategic IT as its implementation partner, thanks to their knowledge and experience in the edible oil sector. Van den Berghe says: ’One of our suppliers, also active in edible oils, is already a client at Schouw Informatisering, Strategic IT’s Dutch parent company. In the end, their positive experience was the reason to choose Strategic IT.’
Phased project
The project will commence in January 2008 and will be carried out in three phases. The first phase will cover the implementation of the financial administration, the purchasing and sales order administration and part of the inventory management module. Here the emphasis will be on making the future positions in the various oil and fat contracts clear. Phase two will concentrate on optimising inventory management and supporting the refilling activities. The third and final phase will implement a web application for tracking with which clients will be able to follow their orders and other important information directly.
