Strategic IT opens offices in Belgium:

‘Realising business process improvements at Food & Beverage companies is our passion and profession'

Berchem - 30 March 2006: On 1 April 2006 Strategic IT N.V. will open its doors in Berchem to companies in the Food & Beverage sector in Belgium. Strategic IT is a subsidiary of Schouw Informatisering, the largest Microsoft Gold Partner in the food and beverage industry in the Netherlands. Strategic IT develops, implements and maintains integrated company-wide software for the automation of business processes and the provision of information for Food & Beverage organisations. For this Microsoft Dynamics™ NAV (previously known as Navision) is supplemented with SI Foodware® to create a fully integrated solution. Strategic IT aims to service its existing Belgian clients more directly with a team of Belgian consultants and become a leading player in the Belgian market.

Use IT to achieve competitive advantage
Leo van Bochove, appointed director of Strategic IT, explains the establishment of Strategic IT as follows: ‘Realising business process improvements at Food & Beverage companies is our passion as well as our profession. We think that our knowledge and experience with automation in this sector can be significant for many Belgian companies operating in the Food & Beverage industry.' Strategic IT distinguishes itself from alternative ERP suppliers in several ways:

Result-orientated approach
The starting point for each project is always the vision, objectives and improvements that a client wishes to realise. Whether it concerns the correct implementation of the compulsory traceability functionality or tuning the logistics processes more efficiently, Strategic IT will map out the current and desired situation and will indicate where improvements can be achieved, what the investment will be and how soon it will repay itself. Leo van Bochove: ‘We see IT as a means to increase efficiency in the business processes, so that our clients are able to distinguish themselves in the market and gain competitive advantage.'

Cost management is vital
With the extensive standard functionality of SI Foodware, Strategic IT is offering its clients access to the vast experience already built up in this sector. Leo van Bochove: ‘This clearly minimizes any investment in customisation. Knowledge of the sector and a practical implementation methodology lead to successful projects that are realised within budget and planning.'

Akin to a gourmet restaurant
Leo van Bochove: ‘I like to compare our way of working to a gourmet restaurant: Dynamics NAV and SI Foodware are the high-quality ingredients for a dish. Our implementation methodology can be compared to a tried and tested recipe which describes down to the last detail how to prepare the dish successfully. But in the end, the success of the dish depends on the chef in the kitchen, he determines the ultimate flavour. The same applies to our personnel: they have the knowledge and skills to carry out a successful implementation project. And what's more, they understand your jargon, have experience in your sector and know exactly how to translate your situation to strategic IT solutions.'

Strategic IT
Strategic IT already has a range of clients in Belgium in the Food & Beverage industry, including some in the chocolate, cheese and Fruit & Vegetable sectors. In the Netherlands the parent company, Schouw Informatisering, has completed more than 120 implementations in the various sub-sectors of the Food & Beverage industry, and in 2005 it realised a turnover of €9 million. Strategic IT has great expectations for the Belgian market: ‘We hope to meet our first new clients in 2006', Leo van Bochove says. ‘And we expect to expand steadily in the coming years to serve even more clients.'
