Provimi Group chooses SI Foodware
World market leader in animal nutrition consolidates its software to a Microsoft platform
24 August 2006 - Provimi Group, a global market leader in the field of animal nutrition, has signed a strategic agreement with Watermark to implement Microsoft Dynamics NAV (previously Navision) and SI Foodware from Schouw Informatisering.
Provimi has more than 100 offices worldwide and is represented in more than 30 countries. In the present situation offices operate using their own local systems, including a number of existing implementations of Navision. In order to achieve efficiency and save costs Provimi will consolidate the business software to one Microsoft platform, whereby best practice business processes will be implemented within the group. In addition, the company wishes to make the financial information from the various profit centres more transparent.
At the end of 2005 the preparatory phase has been completed, in which both involved parties examined whether it would be possible to develop a common basic application (kernel) for all Provimi profit centres worldwide. Wim Sluijter, Director Controller and IT at Provimi said, "We have formalised our agreement with Watermark and Schouw Informatisering after the successful completion of the preliminary investigation. Watermark and Schouw Informatisering saw the importance of a very thorough investigative phase and took a pro-active approach to support us where necessary."
For specific Food functionalities Watermark works closely with the Dutch company Schouw Informatisering whose SI Foodware software supplies the Food & Beverage industry with a solution based on Dynamics NAV. In the meantime a start has been made with building the basic application, after which the first common implementation will start in Hungary, at an office with 100 users. Implementations at other Provimi profit centres will follow.
The Competence Center set up by Provimi will pay an important role here. After an extensive training, employees at the Competence Centre, together with the involved consultants, will be responsible for the roll out of the software to all the offices.
