Foodguru portal offers food industry knowledge, information and inspiration
A Capgemini, Microsoft and Schouw Informatisering initiative
Schiphol-Rijk, 11 December 2006 - Capgemini, Microsoft and Schouw Informatisering have bundled their strengths to design and develop Foodguru, an online knowledge portal specifically aimed at managers of Dutch companies in the food and beverage sector, involved in the ICT, logistics, quality and food safety, financial, and production disciplines. Food managers can visit the knowledge portal - www.foodguru.nl - to look for information and inspiration on a wide range of relevant subjects, from trends and strategy to logistics and quality management. The portal is based on questions and issues that are current in the sector and the portal is continually being updated.
"The special thing about Foodguru is that it draws together knowledge about such a wide range of issues in one place. Not just about trends and strategy, logistics, supply chain management and ICT, but also about quality management and traceability," says Peter Tielemans, Principle Consultant at Capgemini. "And furthermore, because of the cooperation between Microsoft, Schouw Informatisering and Capgemini the site is a place where relevant information - from different points of view - is available in one place."
The source of much of the information on Foodguru arises from answers to questions posed by managers in the food & beverage sector. All this information, from various disciplines, ranging from ICT to food safety, is now available at one central place. The portal is not a news site, but it deals with current issues and gives in-depth information in the form of reports, white papers and research, many of which can be read or downloaded for free. In addition visitors can read about the experiences of other food companies on specific issues.
Foodguru is being continually expanded and updated. New information is added to existing and new categories. Foodguru publishes an electronic newsletter to keep readers informed of new content at the portal.
