Manufacturing means that a company converts one or more raw materials or components into a new product, where after this product is sold and distributed. Within the business type manufacturing, Schouw Informatisering is dividing companies based on the shelf life of products:
- Long shelf life: this concerns products with a sustainability of a number of months up till one or two years;
- Short shelf life: this concerns products with most often a sustainability up till several weeks or months;
- Daily fresh: this concerns products with most often a sustainability up till seven or eight days.
