Trading company in food & beverage
Trading means that a company purchases products, in order to sell them again after a certain period of storage. Sometimes, small operations take place for sale, such as repacking or labelling of products. Within the business type trade, Schouw Informatisering is dividing companies based on the shelf life of products:
- Long shelf life: this concerns products with a sustainability of a number of months up till one or two years;
- Short shelf life: this concerns products with most often a sustainability up till several weeks/months;
- Daily fresh: this concerns products with mostly a sustainability of seven/eight days;
- Commodity traders: trading companies that are active in the commodities futures market.
